Add zone #
In the warehouse editing screen, click the new button in the Zones section of the screen.

After clicking new you will get the screen in the image below, fill in the zone code, mask, description and product handling type and then click submit.
Product handling types are By Product or By LPN. If you are not using LPN, do not select LPN as the handling type.

You will now see your new zone in the list of zones below the warehouse setup screen.
Open your new Zone by clicking on the link in the Code column. Here you will configure the Zone details.
P4 Warehouse Zone Configuration
In the zone settings screen, you will find several detailed settings for the zone's behavior.
If you quarantine a zone, you will not be able to allocate inventory from that zone.
Zone mask is a particularly important feature, which better manages the deployment team. Zone mask will help you create hundreds or thousands of container locations. Mask Structure: The segments of the mask are inside { } each segment is numbered. Below are a couple of examples with the results.
- 01-A-{0:00}-(1:0} = 01-A-12-A
- This format is corridor, zone, container, level
- A-{0:00}-{1:0} = A-03-A
- This format is Zone, Container, Level
Zone masking depends on the physical layout of your warehouse, use this feature with caution as you may accidentally create hundreds of thousands of bin locations.
It is not mandatory to include the Zone in the label format, the zone can be included as a separate field on the container label.
Setting up the Zone for dedicated product locations is for rare use cases and is not recommended for most warehouses or distribution centers. Setting up the Zone for one container per product is for rare use cases and is not recommended for most warehouses or distribution centers.
It is important to set up the picking ticket printer in each zone, this is vital if you plan to use Zone picking. Zone/Bin dimensions are vital for several purposes.
When designing your areas, consider staging areas, cross dock areas, receiving areas, refrigerated areas, frozen areas, hazardous materials areas, etc.
